-Change your DIVMS password remotely here.

-The University has a VPN (virtual private network) offering that lets you connect securely to the Campus network from home or other remote locations. See VPN for more details.

If you are a current user of Scientific Workplace, and experience problems with the Typeset->Preview PDF function, you will need to click here. When asked if you want to run or save the file, choose "run". When asked if you want to add the information to the registry, choose "yes." If you have any problems, please let us know.

Intel Compilers upgraded ....

The Intel C/C++ and Fortran compilers have been upgraded from version 8.0 to version 9.0. This upgrade includes compilers for the x86_64 architecture, as well as the usual 32-bit compilers.

1) Windows machines patched & rebooted for WMF exploit. If you have an unmanaged windows machines, run windows update ASAP.

2) Installed faster file server with new OS and faster/larger disk sub system allowing for increased quotas. Unmanaged users will need to reboot to access new file server (fileserv.divms.uiowa.ed).

Increased quotas as follows:

*Faculty & Staff -> 15 Gig (yes that's 15 Gig!)
Graduate Students -> 850 meg
Students -> 250 meg

*The quotas above are a total of all quota'ed space in both /group and your home account. So, if you need a 1g "project" directly, CSG would subtract 1G from your home directory quota.
