IMPORTANT NOTE:
You can no longer forward mail by creating a .foward file in your home directory. If you have a .forward in your home directory please remove it. Please read the next item for information on how to forward your mail.
How to Forward Mail
-
Login to the
Mathematical Sciences Mail Utilities.
Click on "Forward Mail" in the menu in the sidebar.
Enter the address(es) that you want to receive your email. If you want to forward your mail to more than one address, insert commas between the addresses.
When you've entered all the addresses you want, click the "Submit" button.
Do Not Create Mail Forwarding Loops
Be careful not to create mail forwarding loops. Loops happen when mail is forwarded from one account to a second, and then from the second back to the first. In particular, please note that the Departments of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics and Actuarial Science share accounts. If you forward your email back and forth among username@cs.uiowa.edu, username@math.uiowa.edu, and username@stat.uiowa.edu, you will create a forwarding loop.
