Getting an Account

Next:Starting a Session Up:Quick Start Previous:Quick Start

Any faculty or staff member employed within the Mathematical Sciences, or any student who is registered as an undergraduate or graduate major in Mathematical Sciences, may self request an account within Mathematical Sciences (skip down to obtaining an account). Some classes (but not all) also have temporary accounts created for class members, whether they are majors or not, at the request of the instructor.

Anyone non-faculty, non-staff, or non-major within Mathematical Sciences can apply for an account. However, a faculty member with primary or secondary appointment (tertiary, etc.) must sponsor the application with a one sentence justification as to why the account is needed. The DEO for each department will review all account sponsorship applications and approve or deny the account request. Typically, the justification has to do with joint research being done.

To obtain an account, print off an application for an account form. Fill out the form, sign it, and have your faculty sponsor sign it and fill in the one sentence account justification. Return the completed form to room 303a MLH. In a day or two, stop back in room 303a MLH and ask the CSG Staff for your account agreement. Your login name and password will be on the agreement. Read and sign the agreement, and give the top portion of the agreement back to a CSG staff member in 303a MLH.
