Unsupported Hardware

If possible, the CSG will try to provide network cables for unsupported hardware. The CSG will also provide a minimal network configuration, which will probably include connectivity to the building's networked printers and the configuration of email software.

For problems with PCs or Macintoshes, contact the ITS liason or computer-support research assistant for your department. These people are listed in Help from Within Mathematical Sciences>

Users who are having problems with other unsupported hardware can try contacting the CLAS IT Group.

Examples of unsupported hardware:

  • Local printers connected to your local machine.
  • Scanners.
  • Cradles for hand-held computing devices (e.g., Palm Pilot)
  • Other flavors of UNIXes (Sun, SGI, AIX, etc.)
