The Mathematical Sciences network is a UNIX-based network. Only encrypted data transfers are permitted using the SSH (secure shell protocol).You must have an FTP client that can talk the SSH protocol. Download WS FTP Pro from ITS Software Download You must have version 7.62 or higher of WS FTP Pro for support of the SSH protocol support.
After WS FTP Pro is installed, launch the application. The first time it is run, the Connection Wizard will start (if you've already started it, click the "Connection Wizard" button). Enter "linux.divms.uiowa.edu" in the field labeled "Site Name:" and then click "Next".

Set "Connection Type" to "SFTP/SSH" and click "Next".

Set "Server Address" to "linux.divms.uiowa.edu" and click "Next".

Set "User Name" to your DIVMS username. If you want WS FTP to save your password, set "Pasword" to your DIVMS password. Click "Next".

Click "Finish" and you will be connected to your DIVMS account

If you left the Password field above empty, you will be prompted to enter it now

You should now be logged in and be able to transfer files back and forth between your PC and your DIVMS unix account.
If you see the Untrusted Public Key warning message, select the "Trust this key" radio button only if the MD5 and SHA1 Fingerprint matches the window as shown below, then click OK. If the fingerprint does not match, choose "Do not allow this connection."

The next time you start WS FTP, click the "Connect" button in the upper left of the window to get the Site Manager window. Double-click on linux.divms.uiowa.edu and a session will start.
