The Linux Support staff of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences provide a stable, secure, productive Linux environment that allows the departments and programs within the College to fulfill their educational, research and administrative needs.
The staff support the basic network infrastructure and computing environment for state-of-the-art UNIX workstations, servers, and clusters used in educational and research facilities and faculty and administrative offices. The CLAS Linux Support team offers a variety of services, including managed Linux loads, network file services (including backup and recovery), personal web hosting, public printers, network infrastructure protocols, and a hot disaster recovery site for core services.
The CLAS Linux Support team seeks to improve the quality of education and research through out the College by working together with faculty and staff to maximize the availability of core network services and provide exceptional support to our individual customers in their teaching and research needs.
